Why join WMGMA? The core purpose of the WMGMA is to advance group practice management in order to improve the delivery of health care in Wisconsin. We do this by focusing on the areas of concern to administrators and managers: professional development, networking, and support. We also monitor legislation and regulation to help you stay “ahead of the curve” in the ever-changing healthcare environment, and we maintain liaisons with payers, consumers, employers, and vendors in order to enhance group practice. We offer three categories of membership: Regular, Affiliate and Associate. WMGMA wants to be your source for the information you need to keep your business operations running smoothly. Here are some of the benefits of membership for Regular and Associate members: - PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT/CONTINUING EDUCATION: WMGMA hosts an annual conference each September. We also offer regional events focused on a specific topic. Our conferences provide a forum for networking with other managers in Wisconsin, as well as an opportunity to hear industry experts discuss the latest trends or career development ideas to take back and put immediately to use in your organization.
- SALARY SURVEY: WMGMA members have the opportunity to participate in the annual non-physician compensation survey. Participants receive the results at no charge.
- NETWORKING: A searchable directory is available in the “member only” area of our website. The WMGMA website also contains a member forum for sharing ideas and solutions.
- WEBSITE: Our interactive website also includes current news and regulatory updates, practice management resources and other real-time information you can put to use in your practice. WMGMA members can also post job openings on the site at no charge.
- JOB BOARD: Wmgma members can post job openings on the site at no charge. The listings are viewable by both members and non-members.
- LEGISLATIVE REPRESENTATION: WMGMA represents and supports the interests of all members at the Wisconsin legislature. In addition, our Legislative Committee meets regularly to monitor what is happening on a state level and will keep you updated on important issues affecting your practice.
- REPRESENTATION WITH INSURERS: Members of our Third Party Payor Committee and Medicare/Medicaid Workgroup bring your concerns to the attention of payors and intermediaries for government programs at their regularly scheduled meetings. You can forward your questions directly to committee members for answers that are immediately applicable to your practice.
- LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT/VOLUNTEERING: WMGMA offers extensive opportunities to become involved in the activities of the association through our committees, workgroups and Board positions*
Affiliate Members receive the following benefits: - Website listing with information about your company, link to your website and contact information.
- Access to 'member only' section of website including the searchable member directory
- Advance notice of conferences and discounts on conference exhibit packages
- Opportunity to attend continuing education presentations at conferences
- Annual mailing list/labels of members
- Opportunity to participate on the Education or Legislative Committees
- Inclusion on mailing and e-mail list to receive communications sent to our members
*Associate and Affiliate members are not eligible to vote or hold Board positions. WMGMA has hundreds of individual members representing thousands of physicians and group practices throughout the state. WMGMA is affiliated with the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), the national medical group association in Denver, Colorado. (Membership with the national association is not required for membership in WMGMA.)
