Washington Update (MIPS and APMs)
Suzanne Falk, National MGMA Government Affairs Representative

As Associate Director of MGMA Government Affairs, Suzanne serves as a liaison between MGMA and its members by coordinating Association grassroots efforts, frequently speaking at MGMA state and national meetings, and serving as an informational resource to members, helping to navigate them through the complex details of new federal regulations and legislation. In her role, she works closely with her D.C. colleagues to represent the medical group practice voice in Washington, converting member feedback into direct advocacy with policy makers. Suzanne holds a degree in government from the University of Maryland and a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University, where she specialized in healthcare and domestic economic policy. She has been with MGMA since 2012.

Brian E. Gittens, EdD, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, Associate Dean of HR, Equity, and Inclusion, UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health

Dr. Brian Gittens specializes in organizational and leadership development, strategic diversity and inclusion, organizational assessment and analysis, change management, and talent management in support of optimizing organizational performance and quality initiatives. Brian is a human resource professional, researcher, educator, and consultant with more than 24 years of operational and administrative experience. He is currently the Associate Dean for Human Resources, Equity, and Inclusion in the UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health.

All WMGMA conferences meet the requirements for continuing education credit hours from ACMPE. These CE hours are good towards certification requirements. To claim credit hours, simply go to my transcript area of the MGMA website. Enter your CE hours based on the conference schedule. We recommend that the program brochure or materials is kept for your records in case of an audit. ACMPE matches hour-for-hour minus breaks and meals.


As an independent chartered Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives, ACHE Wisconsin Chapter is authorized to award 8 hours of ACHE Qualified Education credit toward advancement or recertification in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Participants in this program who wish to have it considered for ACHE Qualified Education credit should list their attendance when they apply to the American College of Healthcare Executives for advancement or recertification.
