November Webinar on Provider-Based Departments Compliance

Many hospitals have on- and off-campus departments that are designated provider-based for Medicare. This designation can have a significant impact on the financial health of an organization, but it requires adherence to Medicare regulations. Are your departments compliant with Medicare regulations? CMS is focusing on compliance in these provider-based departments. This session will discuss the history of provider based, important dates that may impact your provider-based status, and the criteria that needs to be considered when assessing your provider-based department(s) for compliance with the provider-based regulations. Join us for the November 15 webinar at noon.

Assembly Health Committee Approves Funding for Translation Services

The Assembly Health Committee approved a bill that would require the Department of Health Services to provide funding to medical groups for translation services. The proposal – introduced by WMGMA and its members - approves up to $100,000 to fund translation services at clinics and hospitals serving rural and under-served populations. The bill still requires approval by the full legislature and the Governor. If approved, funding would be available in the next state fiscal year. View a copy of WMGMA’s testimony to the committee here.
