Updates from MGMA and WMS at Symposium 2017

Symposium 2017 will feature updates from the Medical Group Management Association and the Wisconsin Medical Society. Thomas Ludwig RN, MBA, FACMPE, Owner/President, Forward Healthcare Solutions, LLC will present Motivate Yourself - Pursue ACMPE Certification and Fellowship through MGMA. This program meets AAPC guidelines for 1.0 CEUs in Core B, CPPM. Please note: Core B can comprise no more than 33% (1/3) of the total Core continuing education units. H.J. Waukau, Policy and Population Health Specialist, Wisconsin Medical Society will present on Health Reform and MACRA and MIPS. The Health Reform program meets AAPC guidelines for 1.0 CEUs. Can be split between Core A, CPCO and CPMA for continuing education units. The MACRA and MIPS program meets AAPC guidelines for 1.0 CEUs. Can be used for Core A and all specialties except CIRCC for continuing education units.

Tom Ludwig is president of Forward Healthcare Solutions, LLC, a consulting firm that specializes in working with physician practices. He has over 40 years of experience in ambulatory health care, primarily in clinic operations management. Tom has expertise in process improvement and workflow efficiency, advanced access and clinical quality plans. Tom is a member of MGMA and Wisconsin MGMA. He currently serves on the WMGMA Board of Directors as ACMPE Forum Rep. Tom is a Board Certified Medical Practice Executive and a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives.

HJ is the Policy and Population Health Specialist with the Wisconsin Medical Society and specializes in health care reform and Medicaid finance. Prior to joining the Society he served as a Budget and Policy Analyst for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, where he reviewed and implemented several critical Medicaid programs for the Affordable Care Act and Wisconsin’s Medicaid Waiver under Governor Scott Walker. He holds a Master’s degree in public affairs from the University of Wisconsin, and a Bachelor’s in political science from the University of Colorado.
