WMGMA is the state’s professional association of medical group managers. We are committed to advancing the profession and WMGMA is your resource for information, education, networking and advocacy.

Get involved today to help WMGMA advance leaders and practices in Wisconsin. The following describes a variety of opportunities for involvement in WMGMA. The options range in time and scope to best match your interests and time availability.

JOIN A COMMITTEE

Committee participation offers members of Wisconsin MGMA an opportunity to contribute to the work of the organization while interacting with fellow members who share common interests. Involvement on a committee is a great way for members to network, share ideas and further WMGMA’s initiatives. The average committee member time commitment is 1 hour per month. The following WMGMA committees provide significant governance and guidance to the medical practice management professionals they serve.

COMMITTEE INTEREST FORM

Education Committee
Members of the Education Committee plan, organize and execute the annual conference and webinar series. Committee members work to choose speakers, arrange facilities, prepare meeting notices for mailing, host and introduce speakers, and process meeting evaluations.

Payer Relations Committee
The Payer Committee is a combination of the influential Third Party Committee and the Medicare/Medicaid Committee. They work with other organizations on Payer activities, hold meetings, and post updates on the WMGMA website. 

Legislative Committee
WMGMA represents and advocates for members’ interests. This Committee works with the WMGMA lobbyist to represent the Association and its members to State Legislators.The committee keeps members informed of the latest health care legislation at the State, as well as federal public policy issues affecting health care management. 

Membership Committee
This Committee works closely with the WMGMA office to recruit, renew and engage membership. They are available to answer questions from current and prospective members, welcome new WMGMA members and implement new member services. This committee oversees the WMGMA Mentor Program that pairs seasoned practice managers with those new to the profession. 

MENTORSHIP
WMGMA’s Mentor Program introduces seasoned medical practice management professionals to those new to the field. By serving as professional role models, trusted friends and career advisors, mentors make a significant contribution by helping to develop the professionals who will lead tomorrow’s practice management industry. Mentors can offer guidance, advice and information on best practices and available resources.

SERVE ON THE BOARD/NOMINATE
WMGMA is run by a volunteer Board of Directors. Board members are elected annually to staggered three-year terms. Nominations are accepted throughout the year. Board members develop and manage the affairs of the Association, and are supported by Committee Chairs and staff. Positions include President, President-Elect, Membership Coordinator, Finance, Executive Committee, Education Committee, Legislative Committee, Payer Committee, ACMPE Representative and Directors At- Large.
